Thanks to a resourceful coaching client, I recently discovered www.Toodledo.com: which is essentially an on-line to do list on steroids. This thing can prioritize, it can sort, it can synch with Outlook, Google calendar. You can SEND IT new items using Blackberry and iPhone technology, JOTT and even TWITTER! Get this: you can format the lists to print out such that you can fold them into a little book. If only it did the dishes – nevermind, I have one of those.
The best part is it’s EASY to use and EASY to maintain. Dare I say, it’s FUN to use? This is THE software I recommend for setting goals and tracking progress. Talk about no more excuses! I haven’t been so excited about a productivity tool since I met and fell in love with my Blackberry Pearl. But that’s another story.. for another entry.
Let me know what you think about Toodledo!

Aug 08, 08 at 18:36I also just discovered Toodledo. I believe it’s pretty new. I’m pretty excited about it. It’s very flexible, but without taking a lot of time. Actually it’s been making my todo list time much faster. And it’s having a somewhat revolutionary effect on my productivity. Some of that is because it is better than paper or MS outlook and I am working better and not forgetting things as much. Some of it is because it is indeed fun and so I’m using it more and sticking to it better. And that gets to something else, perhaps most important of all – it helps me be motivated about what I am doing. This is a bit hard to explain in a logical fashion (because it’s not logical), but somehow seeing the tasks in front of me helps keep me focused. Perhaps I don’t respond well to feeling adrift, which was always the pre day planning period feeling I’d have. Maybe seeing it in Toodledo’s format helps make it seem more important? Anyway, it’s working for me and I’m delighted.

Aug 08, 08 at 18:39Oh, and I also wanted to mention that I also looked at “Remember The Milk” which looks pretty similar. I concluded that toodledo was marginally better (each has their strengths, so this is pretty individual). What clinched it for me was that Remember The Milk costs $25 to use the iphone version (though I found out later that the generic mobile version is free and usable on iphones). Toodledo is free on the iphone (and it’s iphone functions is *quite* nice). Though I did end up upgrading to the $14 plan because I wanted the extra features.
